Behind The Artist...
For Peter David, the love of music and songwriting came easy; it was the music industry that was harsh. Over 30 years ago, a producer told Peter, "Your songs are controversial... You cannot sing those songs as a male artist... You will never make it." They offered a possible song purchase, Peter replied, "They are not for sale". He walked out the door. In shame and disappointment with a difficult industry, Peter walked away from music completely in 2002.
The 90s in South Beach provided a neon-lit backdrop to a prolific era of creation. "It was the place to be... I loved seeing my address on my driving license. The city that never sleeps." Peter was immersed in the vibrant, chaotic energy of Miami's 24/7 coastal pulse and its dance clubs. It was here that the foundations of his music were created, telling his stories and essence of a fun yet provocative peninsula — or as Peter says, "One big melting pot."
After a long hiatus, the return to music in 2014 was not a choice; it was an inevitability. Time healed the fractures that led to his departure, allowing him to rebuild his studio, reconnect with the vaulted tracks with a renewed perspective, and new songwriting. "It had to have been one year after the Cleveland, Ohio abduction case in 2013, inspiring me to write my first song since 2002. Their story of captivity over a decade impacted me... how these young ladies survived a monster. I needed to tell their story. The melody mature, eerie, a new style, telling an important story". This catalyst did not just bring Peter back to his craft; it signaled that the journey was not complete and allowed him to reconnect with his tracks of yesteryear. Now full-circle, here he is today, stepping back in time and bringing timeless songs for the music today, with producer Thomas Müller.
Behind The Producer ...
Music has been a part of Thomas Müller's life since the 1990s when he started composing music on the piano and synthesizers. Years later, he returned to his passion and began producing his own music; exploring Synthpop, EDM, Nu Disco and Pop through projects such as Thalessio and SYNEON.
Today, Thomas works as producer and creative partner for Peter David. Alongside his musical work, Thomas has spent his professional career in marketing and communication, combining artistic creativity with strategic expertise.
Behind the Scenes
Every frame holds a piece of the journey.
The music industry is like Chess. Protect the king to win the game. ♞
"It's ok to not be ok". It took me 13 months to walk back into my studio to continue the legacy.
You never know what paths may cross in Miami... I met a friend of Frida's (ABBA).
Working on Forever!... my original master.
Like any song starts, in a moment it can all be gone ∞
Thank You's
- MY PRODUCER. A very, very special Thank You to Thomas Müller for believing in me, collaborating making these songs for the world to hear! None of this would have happened without YOU!... "You are the Super TROOPER and the master of the scene. A genius!" I know I can be stubborn... it's my Mother's German side.
- MY FAMILY. My sister "Lisaah"; you, Mom, Dad, how you tolerated all those years of ABBA! ABBA! ABBA! How I wish our parents could be on this planet to see this. To all my U.K. Music & Art, Royal Academy Of Music teachers; guiding me in this direction. To that little Scottish Terrier bundle, Duncan-'Hoodini'; how I miss you! You departed somewhere 'In Between' leaving me to finish this; it took a moment to get back into the studio and the endless hours finishing. The songs are now copyrighted under DH Music. My friends; you know who you are... perhaps the few are the many of such good support and understanding my character. My colleagues; "Surprise! The Purser has a musical secret, not just coffee, tea, munchies".
- TO THE ARTISTS who inspired me with the gift of music. AEIƎA (ABBA); I say, "Thank You For The Music" inspiring me to write songs. SANDRA; you were my introduction to Euro-Beats; still a playlist favourite. STEVIE NICKS; you, fantastic lady, you are my mystical poet. PAT BENATAR, HEART; Ladies in rock rule!... To ALL the ARTISTS I listened to and still love; your musical journey is now my own.
